OK, 8th graders. Now that we have had a good lesson on information literacy... including things like MAKING UP FALSE INFORMATION AND PUTTING IT ON THE WEB and POSTING INAPPROPRIATE THINGS ON THE WEB...maybe we should try this assignment again.
What do you think kids should know so that they know how to use the internet?

I think teachers or parents should talk to their kids before they go browsing because they could be believing all of what they see. People need to know that everything on the internet is not true. Dillon
I think things kids should use to figure out if it’s a good site to get sources to would be www.archives.com. They should also be able to look for things in the web address that might be clues to figure out wheather or not it’s a personal site. They should also search other sites that are linked to their website. They could also compare the information they get from that site to another site talking about the same topic.

I learned that you can find out who made the web site and where they live and there name. It is wierd how you can find out who made it and where they live. I also learned that you can find out if the web site is bad or good. That is what I learned about the internet.

Kids need to learn the difference from Real Life and Wat SEEMS REAL BUT IS NOT REAL IT IS FALSE, Parents should be the ones teaching their own kids how to use the internet. Parents should tell their kids what they can and cant look at! Little Kids believe too much, so the internet needs to be filtered before little kids, NOT PRETEENS AND UP, go online! I think that most of the stuff on the internet is not true and nobody should have to feel embaressed cause of the internet's lies!

if you dont know if what you are reading is true then all you need to go to is who eassy.com and it tell you who made it, when it was made, and about that person or people. so if you dont know if what you are reading or what you are looking at is true or not.

I think that some of the stuff on the internet is fake,they are just trying to get attention so they just make stuff up that is dumb.

i think it is good that we are learning not to trust everthing on the net. it is so scary the things that they can do but y woud any one want to do things like that? its like stealing candy from a baby y would you do that. i think we should learn more things about the internet.

i think kids should be more careful on the web. dont u on every computer they should have a blocker so u can downlode it . if we have this mabey our computert use could be better

I learned that if i need to know who made the websites- any website, i can go to easywhois.com to find that out, who the person is, where they live and more! I think kids, need to have certain websites blocked from viewing. I suggest getting a filtering system if u have an problems. I think teenagers though know what the difffernece between bad sites, and good sites! So u can let them do watever!

Certain website can be very dangerous, so i think we should always be carfull where we go! Just cause it is rated as a good website might not mean it is! BEWARE OF THE BAD WEBSITES!
